To make your own wasabi from powder:
- Mix wasabi powder and water in the ration of one cup wasabi to 3/4 cup water.
- Cover the mixture for about 5 minutes for the ideal taste and spiciness.
- For best results serve within 3 hours of preparing.
- If made in advance, store in an airtight container for maximum taste and freshness.
Wasabi adds more flavour and spice when added to soy sauce and then dipping the sushi into the sauce. Be careful as it can be very hot and burn the nasal passage if too much is used. You can also experiment by adding some wasabi to KewPie mayonnaise to create a tangy hot sauce.
